Bauhaus were an English rock band formed in Northampton in 1978 by Peter Murphy, Daniel Ash, David J and Kevin Haskins.
Widely regarded as the pioneers of gothic rock, the band combined post-punk, glam rock, dub, funk and experimental music to create a dark, atmospheric sound that helped define an entire musical movement. Though their original career lasted only five years, Bauhaus released influential albums including ‘In the Flat Field’, ‘Mask’, ‘The Sky’s Gone Out’ and ‘Burning from the Inside’, while their debut single ‘Bela Lugosi’s Dead’ became one of the most iconic songs in alternative music history.
