Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme to star on ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’
Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme is, bizarrely, set to appear on the next episode of Celebrity Gogglebox.
The long-running Channel 4 show will see Homme sit down on the sofa and give his thoughts on the biggest moments in British television over the last seven days.
Just like in the civilian version of Gogglebox, Homme won’t be watching television alone, and will be joined by Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears for the programme. The episode is set to air at 9pm on July 17th.
Other famous faces that have featured on the eighth series of Celebrity Gogglebox so far include BBC 6 Music presenter Nick Grimshaw, as well as Bez and Shaun Ryder from the Happy Mondays.
Over the years, Celebrity Gogglebox has welcomed some huge names from the world of music, including Liam Gallagher, Ozzy Osbourne and Tom Jones.
Meanwhile, from the film world, Oscar-winner Kieran Culkin also made a guest appearance last year alongside Josh Hartnett.
It’s been a busy week for Queens of the Stone Age, who played two shows at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London with System of a Down on July 14th and 15th.
Moreover, they returned with their first single in three years, ‘Easy Street‘, which Homme described as a “funny song; like hitting your funny bone, where it’s funny because it hurts and it hurts because it’s funny. You’re serious, but it’s funny.”
Next up for Queens of the Stone Age is two dates in Warsaw, Poland, this weekend to bring their European jaunt with System of a Down to an end.
Then, in August, they will be back on special guest duties for Foo Fighters in North America, which will begin at the Rogers Stadium in Toronto on August 4th.
Later this year, Queens of the Stone Age also have a date pencilled in for Reykjavík in Iceland on October 24th, before they will head to Japan, Australia and New Zealand for a run of headline shows.
