Happyness are an English indie rock band formed in London in 2013 by Jon EE Allan, Benji Compston and Ash Cooper. Blending slacker rock, lo-fi indie, dream pop and alternative rock, the band earned widespread critical acclaim for their understated songwriting, wry humour and melodic guitar-driven sound. Their debut album, ‘Weird Little Birthday’, established them as one of the UK’s most exciting indie acts, followed by the acclaimed ‘Write In’ and ‘Floatr’. Drawing inspiration from artists including Pavement, Yo La Tengo and Elliott Smith, Happyness have built a reputation for introspective lyrics, understated musicianship and a distinctly DIY approach.
