Noel Gallagher says Oasis reunion tour was “better than the ’90s” and provides update on documentary
Noel Gallagher has reflected on Oasis‘ triumphant world tour in 2025, which he says was even better than the 1990s.
Gallagher was honoured at the Brits with the ‘Songwriter of the Year‘ accolade and delivered a heartfelt speech at the ceremony in Manchester at the Co-op Live.
Noel used his speech to pay thanks to his Oasis bandmates, including those no longer in the band, stating, “I’m going to start by saying, I’ve got to thank my brother. Bonehead, Guigsy, Tony McCarroll, Alan White, Gem, and Andy. They brought those songs to life.”
He half-jokingly added, “Without them, I’d just be a singer-songwriter, and no one gives a shit about singer-songwriters.”
Speaking backstage, following his victory, Noel reflected on his unforgettable year with Oasis, joyfully stating, “Last year was the most incredible thing that any of us have ever done. To come back after all these years, to get number one albums and all that is pretty mad, but we loved every minute and every second of it.”
Gallagher added, “The gigs were amazing, particularly the ones in Manchester, and I’m kind of lost for words for it, really. The gigs spoke for themselves.”
He went on to say that every show was “ten out of ten” and said they were “truly astonishing”, before admitting that it was also “overwhelming in places to see the love for the band after all these years.”
The Oasis guitarist even admitted that the reunion shows was “better than the ’90s” and “as good as it gets”.
Gallagher also provided an update on the upcoming documentary that chronicles the story of how Oasis got back together and their victory lap across the globe, stating, “I’ve only seen a tiny little bit of it and it’s difficult to have an opinion on it because I’m only looking at little snippets.”
He continued, “Everyone who has seen it, or seen more of it than I have, has said that it’s amazing. If it even captures five per cent of what that tour was, it’ll be astonishing. Looking forward to it.”
Peaky Blinders creator Stephen Knight is producing the documentary, and Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, who previously directed LCD Soundsystem’s Shut Up and Play the Hits and Meet the Bathroom, are on directorial duties.
