Watch IDLES cover The Beatles and The Strokes

IDLES made it a bank holiday weekend to remember as they headed down to Abbey Road for a special session that saw them tear through tracks from Ultra Mono as well as a raucous cover of ‘Helter Skelter’ by The Beatles and ‘Reptilia’ by The Strokes.

The band don’t do anything that’s run of the mill and these covers see the Bristolians give both tracks the IDLES treatment, which is an absolute joy to behold. They also previewed new tracks from their upcoming third album which is set to be released on September 25th via Partisan Records.

The Abbey Road session came straight off the back of IDLES adding a plethora of dates to their upcoming UK tour for next year that will now see them do four dates at Brixton Academy. The shows begin with three dates at Glasgow’s Barrowlands next May with all roads leading to Brixton on June 18th through to the 21st with stops lined up in Newcastle, Cardiff, Sheffield, Birmingham and Dublin.

The band are also offering a limited number of free tickets for key workers which are available on a first-come-first-served basis, here.

The highly-anticipated follow-up to IDLES’ game-changing album Joy As An Act of Resistance looks set to be a barnstormer judging by the singles ‘Model Village’, ‘Mr Motivator’, ‘Grounds’ and ‘A Hymn’ which have all gone down an absolute treat.
