The band was formed by Joe Talbot and bassist Adam Devonshire after meeting while studying in Exeter before relocating to Bristol. ### IDLES named the song 'Danny Nedelko' after their close friend, the Ukrainian-born frontman of Heavy Lungs, as a celebration of immigration and multiculturalism. ### Their breakthrough album, 'Joy as an Act of Resistance', was nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2019.
