CBGB Festival: Morrissey, Patti Smith, and Interpol set for New York punk celebration

CBGB Festival have confirmed the line-up for their second annual punk celebration in New York.

The festival, which will be headlined by Morrissey, Patti Smith and Interpol, will take place at Under the K Bridge in Brooklyn on September 26th.

Other notable names on the line-up include Bikini Kill, Agnostic Front, Buzzcocks, Circle Jerks, Haywire, High Vis, Mannequin Pussy, Militarie Gun, Upchuck, and Violet Grohl.

Additionally, the Sex Pistols with Frank Carter will be making an overdue appearance at CBGBs Festival after previously pulling out of the inaugural 2025 event after Steve Jones suffered an injury that derailed their touring plans.

Furthermore, the bill includes Sleater-Kinney and Fred Armisen’s Ramones tribute band, The Return of Jackie and Judy.

Like last year, the CBGBs line-up intends to bring together different generations of artists connected with punk and post-punk under one umbrella, with the 2025 bill including an eclectic mix of artists ranging from Jack White to Iggy Pop to Johnny Marr to Lambrini Girls.

General admission tickets to the 2026 edition of the festival cost $179, while VIP tickets are available at $349, and there is also a VVIP option for $749.

While the VIP and VVIP options are unaffordable for most, CBGBs also has a Young Punks option that allows under-25s to enter the festival for $99.

Meanwhile, Morrissey also announced a new European tour this week, which will kick off on June 27th in Lillestrom, Norway, followed by dates in July in Rattvik and Gothenburg in Sweden.

Then, he’ll visit Berlin, Warsaw, Budapest, Llujiblana, before heading to Italy for shows in Lake Como and Asti.

In Spain, Morrissey will perform in Barcelona and Madrid in late July before closing the summer run at the Super Bock Arena in Porto on August 1st. He also has a small run of dates in December lined up.

Presumably, his appearance at CBGBs Festival is part of a wider North American tour that’ll be announced in due course amid the lengthy gap between dates in his European tour itinerary.
