The Big Indie Playlist: The best new music of the week
Another stellar week for new music…

nterpol are an American rock band formed in New York City in 1997. Emerging as one of the leading acts of the post-punk revival of the early 2000s, the band became renowned for their atmospheric guitar work, brooding melodies and introspective songwriting.
Their debut album, ‘Turn on the Bright Lights’, is widely regarded as one of the defining indie rock records of its era, establishing Interpol as a major force in alternative music. Subsequent releases including ‘Antics’, ‘Our Love to Admire’ and ‘El Pintor’ further cemented their reputation for sophisticated musicianship and dark, cinematic soundscapes.
Influenced by post-punk pioneers such as Joy Division, Wire and Television, Interpol remain one of the most respected and enduring bands of the modern indie rock movement.
