The Linda Lindas announce moody track ‘Closer’, featuring Hayley Williams
The Linda Lindas are teaming up with their long-time musical mentor Hayley Williams for ‘Closer’, their first release through the Reprise/Warner banner.
The young band has been friends with the Paramore vocalist for the best part of this decade, after their 2021 performance of ‘Racist, Sexist Boy’ went viral online.
In 2023, The Linda Lindas served as direct support for Paramore on their last official tour; in 2025, the ‘Misery Business’ singer surprised fans by joining the rock group on stage at their show in London’s O2 Academy Islington.
Now, both parties are taking their creative synergy to a new level, as Williams is set to feature on ‘Closer’.
Upon sharing the announcement, the band wrote online, “We can’t wait for everyone to hear this. We loved working with Hayley Williams. What a dream.”
Many fans have noted in the snippet that has been shared ahead of the July 10th release that Williams’ vocals are reminiscent of her grungier, screamo-leaning voice on Paramore’s debut album, All We Know Is Falling.
This isn’t the only recent collaboration undertaken by Williams; since Paramore announced their official hiatus, she has featured on tracks by the likes of David Byrne, Turnstile, and Failure.
Recently, she also released two new songs under her new moniker, Power Snatch, with Daniel James, featuring London artist Tiberius B. This came at the end of the European and UK leg in support of her latest solo release, Ego Death at a Bachelerotee Party.
As for The Linda Lindas, the ‘Growing Up’ singers were endorsed by global popstar Olivia Rodrigo, who was recently gifted some of their merch, and exclaimed, “Oh my god, I love The Linda Lindas! It’s so crazy how young they are though, it really freaks me out. They’re so talented.”
A month ago, the band shared ‘Burning Out’, their first song since the 2024 album No Obligation. Their collaboration with Williams will hit streaming platforms this Friday (July 10th).
