“Machine music”: the 1975 Brian Eno song that could be infinitely long
A staggering undertaking.

Roxy Music were an English rock band formed in London in 1970 by vocalist Bryan Ferry, bassist Graham Simpson, saxophonist Andy Mackay, guitarist Phil Manzanera, drummer Paul Thompson and synthesiser pioneer Brian Eno.
Fusing glam rock, art rock, progressive rock and sophisticated pop, the band became one of the most innovative and influential acts of the 1970s. Their stylish image, experimental sound and elegant songwriting helped redefine British rock music, producing acclaimed albums including ‘For Your Pleasure’, ‘Stranded’, ‘Country Life’ and ‘Avalon’.
Following Brian Eno’s departure in 1973, Roxy Music evolved towards a smoother, more polished sound while maintaining critical and commercial success. Their lasting influence can be heard across alternative rock, new wave and synth-pop.
This is the end, beautiful friend.
“Well, Eno’s a silly bugger…”
“They don’t know what they’re talking about.”
“The music was good and we looked good”.
“Before Roxy Music, fashion hated rock and rock hated fashion.”
