My Chemical Romance are an American rock band formed in Newark, New Jersey, in 2001.
Emerging in the wake of the September 11 attacks, the band became one of the defining acts of the 2000s emo and alternative rock movement through their theatrical performances, emotionally charged songwriting and ambitious concept albums. Led by Gerard Way, My Chemical Romance achieved worldwide success with albums including ‘Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge’, ‘The Black Parade’ and ‘Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys’, producing anthems such as ‘Welcome to the Black Parade’, ‘Helena’, ‘I’m Not Okay (I Promise)’ and ‘Famous Last Words’.
Following their reunion in 2019, the band have continued to be celebrated as one of the most influential rock acts of the 21st century.
