John Frusciante is an American musician, songwriter, singer and producer best known as the guitarist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Widely regarded as one of the most influential guitarists of his generation, Frusciante is celebrated for his melodic playing, expressive solos and eclectic influences spanning funk, alternative rock, psychedelic rock and experimental music. After first joining the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1988, he helped create landmark albums including ‘Blood Sugar Sex Magik’, ‘Californication’, ‘By the Way’ and ‘Stadium Arcadium’.
Despite leaving the band twice to pursue solo projects, Frusciante returned in 2019 and continues to perform with the group. Alongside his work with the Chili Peppers, he has released numerous acclaimed solo albums exploring electronic, ambient and experimental music.
