Ingmar Bergman’s scathing take on Jean-Luc Godard: “A fucking bore”
Not impressed.

Ingmar Bergman was a Swedish filmmaker, screenwriter, theatre director and writer whose profound exploration of faith, mortality, identity and human relationships made him one of the greatest directors in cinema history.
Across a career spanning more than six decades, Bergman created a body of work renowned for its psychological depth, philosophical themes and striking visual style. His masterpieces include ‘The Seventh Seal’, ‘Wild Strawberries’, ‘Persona’, ‘Cries and Whispers’, ‘Scenes from a Marriage’, ‘Fanny and Alexander’ and ‘Autumn Sonata’. Frequently collaborating with actors such as Max von Sydow, Liv Ullmann and Bibi Andersson, and cinematographer Sven Nykvist, Bergman helped redefine arthouse cinema and remains one of the most influential filmmakers of all time.
He wasn’t the first.
A classic, one of the longest films in cinema history.
Didn’t care what anyone influential thought about him or his films.
“Wonderful artists and craftsmen.”
