The 1967 track George Martin called a masterpiece: “One of the best things we’ve done”
The watershed musical moment.

George Martin was an English record producer, arranger, composer and recording executive whose work transformed modern popular music.
Best known for producing the vast majority of The Beatles’ recordings, Martin combined his classical training with an adventurous approach to studio technology, helping the band realise increasingly ambitious musical ideas. His arrangements and production techniques on albums such as ‘Rubber Soul’, ‘Revolver’, ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ and ‘Abbey Road’ redefined what could be achieved in a recording studio.
Often referred to as ‘the Fifth Beatle’, Martin also worked with artists including Jeff Beck, America, Elton John and Celine Dion. His influence on music production remains unparalleled, making him one of the most respected figures in recording history.
