Billy Corgan is an American musician, singer, songwriter and producer best known as the founder, frontman and principal songwriter of The Smashing Pumpkins. Emerging from Chicago’s alternative rock scene in the late 1980s, Corgan became one of the defining voices of the genre through ambitious albums such as ‘Siamese Dream’, ‘Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness’ and ‘Adore’. Known for his distinctive nasal vocals, intricate guitar work and expansive songwriting, he has also pursued solo projects and formed the supergroup Zwan.
Beyond music, Corgan has been involved in professional wrestling as the owner of the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA). His influence on alternative rock continues through The Smashing Pumpkins’ ongoing recording and touring career.
