Oasis fans issued important warning ahead of Heaton Park shows in Manchester

Concert promoters SJM have issued a weather warning to Oasis fans ahead of their monumental homecoming shows in Manchester at Heaton Park.

On July 11th, Oasis will finally make their long-awaited return to their hometown to play the first of four shows at Heaton Park, which they previously played three times in 2009 just months before their messy split.

For these four special shows, Oasis have extended the capacity of Heaton Park to 80,000, allowing 320,000 fans will witness the Gallagher brothers perform in Manchester across the nights. They will play the outdoor venue on July 11th, July 12th, July 16th, and July 19th.

Now, SJM have issued a statement to local publication Manchester Evening News regarding the hot weather that is anticipated in the city, warning fans to protect themselves against the heat.

SJM stated: “With a very hot weather forecast on both Friday and Saturday, please stay hydrated, you will be permitted to bring a sealed bottle of water up to 500ml. This must be collapsible plastic.” They also explained: “Solid plastic, metal etc containers will not be permitted on the grounds of safety. Bottles with broken seals will be emptied. There is free water to refill your bottle on site.”

The weather is expected to hit highs of 30C on July 12th and 29C on July 11th in Manchester. However, the temperature is predicted to be cooler for the two shows next week on July 16th and July 19th.

As a result of the high temperatures, SJM concluded: “Wear sunscreen, you will be permitted to bring in a small bottle 200ml or under and protect yourself from the sun overall/wear a hat; we know the legendary bucket hat will be making an appearance, so you’ll fit right in! Look after yourself and those around you.”

Doors open for the Heaton Park shows at 15:00 with music set to begin at 18:00 when Britpop four-piece Cast take to the stage. An hour later, The Verve’s Richard Ashcroft will perform at 19:00, and Oasis will then headline the concert at 20:15 with the curfew set for 22:30.

For their two glorious comeback shows in Cardiff last week, Oasis performed the same set on both nights which suggests it will stay this way for when they return to Manchester. Their set replied upon material from their early years apart from ‘Little By Little’, which is the only post-2000 Oasis song that made the cut.

Oasis have since released an official live recording of ‘Slide Away’ from their first concert in Cardiff, which captures the energy of their performance and Liam Gallagher’s astounding vocals on the classic track.
