Noel Gallagher still hasn’t seen the new Oasis documentary: “I can’t wait to see it”

Noel Gallagher has revealed he still hasn’t seen the upcoming documentary on Oasis‘ reunion tour, but confirmed he’s currently mixing the soundtrack for the film.

Gallagher delivered the update during an appearance on BBC 5 Live on May 15th, which happened to be the same day that he made The Sunday Times’ Rich List for the first time.

After being asked about his excitement for the film, which now has a September 11th release date, Gallagher responded, “I’m more excited to be in the Rich List this morning, let me tell you that.”

However, Gallagher was then quick to dispute that he and his brother Liam have a combined net worth of £375 million, adding, “I was lying in bed this morning thinking, I better call my accountant because I know for a fact that I haven’t got that much money.”

Back to the documentary, Noel confessed, “I still haven’t seen it, me and our kid still haven’t seen it. They are still tweaking it, I think they want to get it to a point before they show me and Liam. Obviously, people have seen it and saying it’s quite an emotional journey. A lot of it is to do with fans and stuff.”

“It’ll be out September 11th, I believe, and I can’t wait to see it, because I can’t really remember that much about the tour because it was such a whirlwind,” he continued.

Despite not having seen it, Gallagher is involved in the process from a musical standpoint: “I’m just mixing the sound for it now at my studio; it’s all sounding great, so hopefully it’ll be a hit.”

In addition to capturing the tour, it includes footage of rehearsals, backstage and onstage access to the band, as well as the first joint interviews with Noel and Liam Gallagher in over 25 years.

Stephen Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders, who has overseen the documentary, commented: “I genuinely cannot wait for the world to see this film. I believe it captures the spirit and emotion of a global cultural moment and does justice to the wit and genius of two exceptional people.”

The as-yet-untitled film, directed by Meet Me in the Bathroom’s Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, will later arrive on Disney+ and Hulu following its release in IMAX and cinemas in September.
