Lindsey Buckingham hints at reunion with Stevie Nicks following reconciliation: “Something that’s in the air”

Lindsey Buckingham has just provided a number of hugely exciting updates, none more so than the one involving his friendship with Stevie Nicks.

In a new video, published across social media, Buckingham kept fans in the loop on a variety of subjects, ranging from his upcoming solo album to an upcoming documentary chronicling the career of Fleetwood Mac.

He began by optimistically stating, “I think 2026 is going to be a very interesting, and y’know, despite what’s going on in Washington, I think it’s going to be a very good year. Or, maybe because of what’s going on in Washington (laughs), but I’m still very grounded in my creative life, I’ve been working on a new solo album for the last couple of years.”

Buckingham then confirmed that his new record is now just “one song away from being finished” and noted, “That’s certainly in the future for this year.”

The guitarist then broached the subject of the upcoming Fleetwood Mac documentary, which the band announced in 2024. It’s set to be directed by Frank Marshall for Apple TV.

He shared of the documentary, “Fleetwood Mac has been working on a documentary for the last couple of years with Frank Marshall who has done many wonderful documentaries. Those are two very specific things that are waiting in the wings for this year.”

Then, things get truly exciting, as Buckingham revealed, “On a more general level, just the energy in terms of what Buckingham Nicks did, to sort of create a resurgence of connection between Stevie and myself, on a larger scale, that seems to be something that’s in the air.”

Buckingham is referring to the reissue of their seminal Buckingham Nicks album in September, which not only made the classic record available for the first time in decades but also rekindled their friendship after years of insults following his firing from Fleetwood Mac.

However, he did remain tight-lipped about precisely what the future may hold for the pair, adding, “What that translates to specifically, I wouldn’t want to speculate yet, but I believe with all my heart that it will translate to something good and something wonderful and something needed and something extremely appropriate.”

At this present moment, only time will tell whether more music is to come from the duo or whether they, perhaps, will be taking Buckingham Nicks on the road, but Buckingham has certainly whipped their fans into a frenzy with his new remarks.

Last October, during an appearance on the Song Exploder podcast, Nicks confirmed that the pair’s days of feuding were now behind them and they were back on speaking terms, which seems, judging by Buckingham’s latest comments, to have carried on into 2026.
