Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham have ended their feud

Fleetwood Mac duo Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham appear to be back on speaking terms.

The new revelation comes after the pair finally re-issued their cult classic 1973 album, Buckingham Nicks, last month and also made the record available on streaming platforms for the first time.

In celebration of the album, they both appeared on the Song Exploder podcast to dive into the song ‘Frozen Love’, which featured on Buckingham Nicks. Notably, while the album was a commercial failure, it did lead to them joining Fleetwood Mac.

While the interviews given to Song Exploder appear to have been recorded separately, Nicks did let the cat out of the bag that they are talking again, sharing, “Lindsey and I started talking about it last night. This whole thing seems really like yesterday to us.”

Only last year, Nicks revealed that the last time she spoke to Buckingham following his dismissal from Fleetwood Mac in 2018 was a brief encounter that occurred at the memorial service for their bandmate Christine McVie in 2023.

She told Rolling Stone, “The only time I’ve spoken to Lindsey was there, for about three minutes. I dealt with Lindsey for as long as I could. You could not say that I did not give him more than 300 million chances”

In the same episode of Song Exploder, Nicks also reflected on the early days of their relationship, which she believes was born out of their first band, Fritz, stating, “It drove us together, because we just couldn’t figure it out.” She continued, “And then we fell in love with each other, and that was it.”

The Fleetwood Mac singer then said of ‘Frozen Love’, “The song is about two people that were in love, that had a lot of differences and saw the world slightly differently, but had this like relationship that seemed to be, like a gift.”

Nicks then explained that she considers it a “modern day love affair, tragedies” akin to Wuthering Heights or Great Expectations, adding, “Because nobody really loves happy songs. Certainly I didn’t, and neither really did Lindsey.”

Nicks is currently on a solo arena tour across the United States which is set to resume at the Xcel Energy Center in St Paul on November 12th.
