Grammys 2026: Sabrina Carpenter confirmed as first performer

Sabrina Carpenter is the first artist set to perform at the Grammys this year, it has been revealed.

Although specific details of the singer’s performance will be kept tightly under wraps until the night itself, she is one of the most decorated artists of the night and is expected to pick up many of the prizes.

She has been nominated for six awards in total, including ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Pop Vocal Album’ for her most recent release, Man’s Best Friend.

Carpenter is also up for ‘Record of the Year’, ‘Song of the Year’, ‘Best Pop Solo Performance’ and ‘Best Music Video’ for her hit single, ‘Manchild’.

The singer is the first artist announced to be performing at the ceremony, which is set to take place live on February 1st in Los Angeles. Additional performers for the show will be announced ahead of the event.

Carpenter has been the recipient of two Grammy Awards in the past, but her run of six nominations makes her one of the most-nominated pop acts at this year’s ceremony. 

The nominations are being led by Kendrick Lamar, who has picked up nine, closely followed by Lady Gaga, who has gathered eight.

Additionally, producers Jack Antonoff and Cirkut sit high up the rankings with seven nominations apiece, and Carpenter is joined by Bad Bunny, Leon Thomas, and engineer Serban Ghenea with six.

The night is set to mark a momentous occasion on other fronts as well, with comedian Trevor Noah hosting the show for the sixth and final time. Paul Simon and Cher among the recipients of the coveted ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at a separate ceremony which will take place a day before on January 31st.
