Apple Corps backs Global Beatles Day for the first time
The favourite day in the calendar for every Beatles superfan, Global Beatles Day, has been confirmed for June 25th, 2026.
June 25th is an important day in the history of the Fab Four. Notably, on that date in 1967, they delivered Britain’s contribution to Our World, delivering a debut of ‘All You Need Is Love’ from Abbey Road to 400 million people across the entire globe via satellite link.
To celebrate that special day, which saw the world united by the spectacle of seeing The Beatles in action, fan Faith Cohen decided to make June 25th into Global Beatles Day in 2009.
Since then, it has become a phenomenon within the Beatles community, but now it has finally received the support of Apple Corps, who are throwing their weight of support behind the project in 2026.
To commemorate the occasion, on June 25th, alongside online and in-person events around the world that celebrate the band, The Beatles will also release a colourised version of their Our World performance of ‘All You Need Is Love’ for free on YouTube.
This marks the first time it has ever been made available to watch online, and it is all in the name of Global Beatles Day.
Additionally, in a letter to Faith Cohen, Apple Corps CEO Tom Greene wrote of her campaigning on behalf of the band, “More than ever, the message of The Beatles, and of ‘All You Need Is Love’ speaks to something vital for community, connection, and the power of bringing people together.”
Greene added, “That is what makes Global Beatles Day so special. It asks nothing more than for people, wherever they are, to stop, listen, and share a little joy.”
While The Beatles may have split up more than 55 years ago, the Fab Four’s relevance feels more vital now than in decades. Only last week, Paul McCartney released his new album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane, and Sam Mendes is currently making four biopics on the band, which will arrive simultaneously in 2028.
Additionally, they are getting their own tourist attraction, too. Last month, Apple Corps confirmed the first-ever Beatles fan experience will open at the home of their former headquarters on Savile Row in London in 2027.
Upon the announcement, Paul McCartney remarked, “It was such a trip to get back to 3 Savile Row recently and have a look around. There are so many special memories within the walls, not to mention the rooftop. The team have put together some really impressive plans and I’m excited for people to see it when it’s ready.”
