Woman accused of attacking Lindsey Buckingham arrested after fleeing to Indiana

The woman accused of attacking and stalking Lindsey Buckingham has now been arrested by local police in Indiana, after she fled to the state from Los Angeles.

A statement released by the Fort Wayne police department on April 11th said that Michelle Dick had been arrested, as she was “wanted on a full extradition warrant out of California for stalking”.

Dick was accused of seven criminal charges relating to Buckingham, according to court documents from April 7th, including for hurling an unidentified substance at the former Fleetwood Mac guitarist in Santa Monica on March 25th. A warrant for her arrest was issued at that time, with bail set at $300,000.

She also faces additional charges of a felony count of making criminal threats, one count of assault with a deadly weapon involving a motor vehicle on March 19th, and one count of vandalising Buckingham’s vehicle, a Mercedes-Benz S450, that same day.

Further, Dick also faces a separate felony count of criminal threat against the musician on March 25th, as well as a misdemeanour battery charge for allegedly using force.

The authorities have also charged the suspect with stalking Buckingham over a period of years, alongside another victim, named as Stephanie N.

Although the musician was not injured in the most recent attack, the Fort Wayne police department confirmed that he had previously filed a restraining order against Dick “following years of harassment”.

The police statement added that the accused assailant was being held in the state “pending extradition back to California,” which is believed to still not have taken place yet at the time of writing.

Through a series of incidents, including calling police to Buckingham’s home after falsely telling police that she had heard gunshots from the house, the guitarist’s restraining order was granted against Dick after he said that she believed him to be her father, and threatened to kill his family.
