Waxahatchee announces new album, ‘Tigers Blood’
Indie folk musician Waxahatchee, real name Katie Crutchfield, has announced her seventh album, Tigers Blood. The record is set for release on March 22nd, 2024 via ANTI-.
Following the singer-songwriter’s last full-length release as part of Plains, her collaborative project with Jess Williamson, the new record will see Crutchfield continuing to partner with other artists. Features will include Wednesday’s MJ Lenderman, Spencer Tweedy and Phil and Brad Cook.
The album announcement is accompanied by the release of the lead single ‘Right Back To It’, a calming, country-infused track featuring banjo accompaniment from Phil Cook and the whimsical guitar tones and supporting vocals of MJ Lenderman. “Been yours for so long, come right back to it,” they harmonise in the chorus.
The single is accompanied by an equally soothing music video. Directed by Corbett Jones and Nick Simonite, the stunning accompanying visual follows Crutchfield and Lenderman on a gentle boat ride along a river.
Following the release of the new record, Waxahatchee plans to take Tigers Blood on tour this spring. She has announced a series of dates across the United States, with stages including the Brooklyn Paramount Theatre and the Los Angeles Hollywood Palladium.
As with her record, Crutchfield will be joined by an impressive range of guests on stage. Snail Mail, Tim Heidecker, Good Morning, Tré Burt, Greg Mendez and Gladie will accompany Waxahatchee at various shows throughout the tour. Find the full details below.
Tigers Blood is now available to preorder. The record is set for release on March 22nd.
