The B-52s announce their split as well as a farewell tour of the UK

Formed in 1976 allegedly over a flaming Volcano cocktail, The B-52s have announced their split with a tour of the UK. Hitting the big time with their self-titled debut LP in 1979, the band have become synonymous with parties and weddings up and down the country.

Tracks like ‘Rock Lobster’ and ‘Love Shack’ put them on the main stage however and they became firm favourites of generation looking to cut loose. Aside from ruining wedding suits with the odd knee slide here and there, the band are a foreword in not taking oneself too seriously and have always employed a heavy dose of fun in their live shows.

The upcoming farewell tour will make stops in Gateshead, London, Nottingham and Manchester with a huge heap of frivolity likely to ensue at every gig we suggest you get your tickets soon, as this will not be one to be missed.
