“Came from the blues…”

Miles Davis was an American trumpeter, bandleader and composer widely regarded as one of the most influential musicians in the history of jazz.
Across a career spanning five decades, Davis repeatedly reinvented his sound, helping shape bebop, cool jazz, hard bop, modal jazz, jazz fusion and jazz-funk. His landmark recordings, including ‘Kind of Blue’, ‘Bitches Brew’ and ‘Sketches of Spain’, transformed the direction of modern music and inspired generations of artists across jazz, rock and beyond.
Known for assembling exceptional bands featuring musicians such as John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter and Chick Corea, Davis remained a pioneering creative force until his death in 1991. He is widely recognised as one of the greatest trumpeters and bandleaders of all time.
