Mick Jagger

Mick Jagger is an English musician best known for being the lead singer of the legendary band, The Rolling Stones. Jagger was born in 1943 and grew up in Dartford, Kent, close to his future bandmate Keith Richards.

Jagger’s musical career spans over six decades, during which he has established himself as the archetypal rock frontman. With his energetic stage presence, Jagger has captivated audiences worldwide for generations and continues to thrill fans today.

The band’s first stable line-up consisted of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Charlie Watts and Bill Wyman. Jones was replaced by Mick Taylor in 1975 and died shortly later in tragic circumstances.

In 1975, Taylor left and Ronnie Wood filled the vacancy. Almost two decades late, original bassist Wyman exited in 1993. Sadly, founding drummer Watts passed away in August 2021, leaving just Jagger and Richards as the two remaining founders of the group today.

In addition to his performances, Jagger’s songwriting abilities have been a major factor in the success of The Rolling Stones. Along with Richards, he has helped craft some of the finest rock songs in history, such as ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash,’ ‘Paint It Black,’ and ‘Sympathy for the Devil’.

Aside from his musical career, Jagger also briefly ventured into acting, with notable roles in films including ‘Performance’ and ‘Ned Kelly’. He has also released four studio albums as a solo artist outside of The Rolling Stones.

Jagger’s impact on the music industry has been recognised with numerous awards and accolades, including induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a knighthood from the Queen of England, and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
