Summary
In a desolate post-apocalyptic world, drifter Max Rockatansky is captured by the forces of the ruthless warlord Immortan Joe. When trusted lieutenant Imperator Furiosa rebels by helping Joe's five captive wives escape, Max reluctantly joins her dangerous journey across the wasteland. Although renowned for its spectacular visual effects, around 80–90% of the film's stunts were achieved practically, with CGI used primarily to enhance environments and remove safety equipment. Director George Miller spent years developing the film before production finally began in Namibia, where hundreds of customised vehicles were built specifically for the shoot. Mad Max: Fury Road received 10 Academy Award nominations and won six Oscars, the most of any film at the 88th Academy Awards.
