Summary
As a series of fatal shark attacks threatens the summer tourist season on Amity Island, Police Chief Martin Brody urges local officials to close the beaches. Under pressure from business leaders, the town remains open until further attacks force action. Brody joins marine biologist Matt Hooper and seasoned shark hunter Quint aboard the Orca to hunt the great white shark. Their dangerous expedition culminates in a tense battle at sea, where Brody ultimately defeats the shark after a gruelling confrontation.
