DIIV is an American indie rock band formed in Brooklyn, New York, in 2011 by vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Zachary Cole Smith.
Originally conceived as Smith’s solo project, DIIV quickly evolved into a full band known for blending dream pop, shoegaze, post-punk and indie rock. Their debut album, Oshin, earned widespread acclaim for its shimmering guitars and atmospheric sound, while subsequent releases such as Is the Is Are, Deceiver and Frog in Boiling Water showcased an increasingly expansive and emotionally resonant approach to songwriting.
Celebrated for their immersive soundscapes and introspective lyrics, DIIV have become one of the leading bands of the modern shoegaze revival.
