System Of A Down re-spark Oasis feud with London chant: “Pull Oasis out of your ass”

System Of A Down used their headline show at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to lash out at Oasis, reigniting their long-standing feud with the Gallagher brothers.

On July 13th, the metal band followed up Queens Of The Stone Age with a staggering 30-song set for around 62,000 fans in attendance.

After their 10th song, ‘Genocidal Humanoidz’, guitarist Daron Malakian introduced their next track, ‘Needles’, by telling the crowd, “We have a song about a tapeworm. Just for fun today, I’m going to name the tapeworm ‘Oasis’”

This manoeuvre is the latest in their lengthy dispute with Oasis, which began in the early 2000s with a throwaway comment from Noel Gallagher, upon hearing their 2001 album, Toxicity.

Noel once remarked to radio station KROQ in the 2000s: “Do you ever look at the sky and think, I’m glad I’m alive? After I heard System of a Down, I thought, I’m actually alive to hear the shittiest band of all time.”

His attack continued, “Which is quite something when you think about it. Of all the bands that have gone before and all the bands that’ll be in the future, I was around when the worst was around.”

Malakian also hit out at the band last year, during the US leg of their reunion tour; System Of A Down were also playing the same venues at a similar time, which meant that the guitarist found himself at Soldier Field in Chicago.

At the time, Malakian shared a photo of himself outside the gig space, pictured with a digitally altered sign that read, “Fuck Oasis.” He captioned the post, “Wow!!! I kept ending up at the right place at the right time in Chicago!!!!!”.

System Of A Down are set to take to the iconic London stage once more tonight (July 15th). Whether they will mention their land-standing feudsters again is anyone’s guess.
