Stevie Nicks on Haim: “They could certainly all have been in Fleetwood Mac”
Stevie Nicks has given high praise to Haim, claiming that all three of the members could have been an asset to Fleetwood Mac.
Nicks has been a fan of the group for many years, and ahead of the release of their new album, I Quit, on June 20th, 2025, she has again professed love for the trio which is made up of sisters Este, Danielle, and Alana.
The Fleetwood Mac vocalist spoke with GQ for a feature celebrating Haim, and shared: “It starts with Danielle’s voice. It is just stunning. She’s the first part of the puzzle, but then the percussion that Este and Alana wrap around her turn all of their songs into percussive masterpieces.”
Nicks then said Haim have created a unique sound that “is something that I have never heard before.” She went on to liken them to her own band, adding, “But coming from Mick Fleetwood’s great love of their kind of percussion, for me in a way, it’s like coming home. They could certainly all have been in Fleetwood Mac.”
She also hinted at a possible collaboration with Haim in the future, and revealed they have worked together on a song, but was tight-lipped on when it will be shared, stating, “Some day, when you tumble into this song, you will understand everything I have just told you.”
It comes after Nicks previously revealed earlier this year at the iHeart Music Awards that she was working on her first solo album in 14 years, which she described as “autobiographical, real stories where I’m not pulling any punches for probably the first time in my life.”
Whether the Haim collaboration will appear on the album remains to be seen. However, their history runs deep. Nicks poignantly paid tribute to her late bandmate Christine McVie by quoting their song ‘Hallelujah’, which they said left them “at a loss for words“.
