Haim announce new album ‘I Quit’

During an intimate Los Angeles show on April 23rd, Haim announced details of their fourth album, I Quit.

The Haim sisters took to the stage at The Bellwether in Los Angeles to perform a collection of their greatest hits, as well as playing their recent singles ‘Relationships’ and ‘Everybody’s Trying To Figure Me Out’ for the first time.

Haim, who are set to return to the Los Angeles venue for another performance on April 24th, also gave live debuts to ‘Down To Be Wrong’ and ‘Blood in the Streets’. The concert marked their first show since September 2023.

During the show, they aired a video behind them which contained the message, “I quit”, which was followed by “I quit what does not serve me”, “I quit overthinking”, “I quit shame”, “I quit dick” and “I quit caring about what you think”.

Haim then confirmed the meaning behind the on-screen message, as “I quit new haim album coming June 20th” appeared.

The indie pop trio have already shared two cuts from the forthcoming album, including ‘Everybody’s Trying To Figure Me Out’, which Danielle Haim named a personal favourite.

“After a lot of reflecting, I realised I’ve let a lot of people try and tell me how I should live my life, but I realised in making everyone else happy, I lost myself,” Danielle wrote upon its release, explaining that she wrote the track “as a way to believe in myself again and quit being scared to do what I want”.

The singer-songwriter also said that the track is her “favourite song” the band have written in the past couple of years, despite it coming in the wake of “some hard times”. She added: “We felt this might be of some use to get our vibes right for this summer!”

Haim are set to appear at a limited number of festivals this summer, including the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on April 27th. Next month, they will arrive in the United Kingdom for BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Liverpool. They will also appear at Primavera Sound in Porto and Barcelona.
