Long-awaited ‘lost’ Slipknot album ‘Look Outside Your Window’ gets 2026 release
A long-delayed Slipknot album from 2008 should be released in 2026, percussionist Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan has promised fans.
The news came via way of a Discord Q&A, which saw ‘Clown’ share the exciting news that Look Outside Your Window is expected to arrive in 2026. He also shared that a delay stopped it from coming out this year, as the band had previously promised; however, he didn’t reveal the specifics behind the postponement.
Announcing the renewed intention to release the long-awaited project in the new year, Clown wrote, “I know I’ve told everyone it would be this year. I’m very sorry it hasn’t been.”
He continued, “Things come to play that change things all the time with the art we create.”
The Slipknot member signed off the announcement by saying, “I want you to know 2026 is the year. It’s just simply time, and I’m just getting tired of waiting myself. Have faith. I promise.”
The album is nine tracks long and was recorded in 2008, while they were in the studio making All Hope Is Gone. However, nobody outside the band and their inner circle were aware of its existence until 2018.
Previously, Slipknot had described the secret project as “experimental and melodic” with, curiously, a “Radiohead vibe”.
When previously announcing the release prematurely in 2023, frontman Corey Taylor shared, “I just went back and listened to all that stuff and it’s so dope and so different. People going into this thinking it sounds like ‘Slipknot’ Slipknot are so wrong.”
He continued, “It doesn’t sound like anything Slipknot have ever done, that’s why it’s its own thing. To me, it really is the long-lost album. The music is so beautiful … People are really going to dig it.”
Recently, the nu-metal legends hit the headlines after they sold a majority stake in their back catalogue to the investment firm HarbourView Equity Partners.
This move came about following the conclusion of Slipknot’s deal with Roadrunner Records, which ended following the release of their 2022 album, The End, So Far.
No official Look Outside Your Window release date has been announced.
