Scorpions cancel 2026 tour of India due to “unforeseen medical circumstances”

Scorpions have cancelled their first shows in India in nearly two decades due to “unforeseen medical circumstances affecting the band members.”

The four-city adventure included stops in Shillong, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Mumbai at the end of April. However, the trek has now been slashed.

The news was shared by BookMyShow, which took to social media to update the fans who were hoping to catch Rudolf Schenker, Klaus Meine, Matthias Jabs, Pawel Maciwoda, and Mikkey Dee.

The organisation began, “We regret to inform you that the SCORPIONS ‘Coming Home’ India tour scheduled in Shillong on April 21st, Delhi-NCR on April 24th, Bengaluru on April 26th and Mumbai on April 30th, stands cancelled due to unforeseen medical circumstances affecting the band members.”

The statement followed up, “We apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment caused to fans. The band are very keen to perform in India when possible and within their schedule.”

With no rescheduled events on the horizon, the organisers also shared that the tickets purchased will be refunded within seven to 10 working days of the announcement.”

The crew last performed in India in December 2007 as part of their Humanity world tour. Most recently, they played a show on April 15th in Brussels, Belgium.

This isn’t the first time the band have cancelled an event. Last year, the band cancelled a handful of their 60th anniversary concerts in South America due to vocalist Meine suffering a respiratory infection.

Additionally, some dates of their Las Vegas residency at PH Live at Planet Hollywood were postponed after drummer Dee required ample time to recover from a sepsis diagnosis.

Earlier this month, Meine had shared with Rolling Stone India that the band were “very grateful” to still be in the business.

He added, “God knows how long we can do this. We’re getting older every year, but when we see the fans in front of the stage, we get so much energy and power back from our fans that we’re still young at heart.”

Scorpions released their last album, Rock Believer, in February 2022, to glowing reviews.
