Rome councillor confirms “negotiations are underway” for Oasis concert amid European tour speculation

The Rome City Councillor for Major Events, Alessandro Onorato, has confirmed he’s planning to bring Oasis to the Italian capital.

Since beginning their reunion tour last month in Cardiff, Oasis have since played five huge homecoming shows at Heaton Park in Manchester and have now moved on to Wembley Stadium in London.

Following the conclusion of the UK and Ireland dates, Oasis will play a series of shows in North America with visits to Australia, South Korea, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and Chile also on their itinerary for 2025.

Notably, despite their popularity on the continent, Europe has never been on the agenda for Oasis in 2025. In the initial press release announcing the reunion, it was made clear that their shows in the UK and Ireland would be the only European dates in 2025.

In recent days, a fake tour poster for Europe in 2026 have spread on social media. One key giveaway that it is illegitimate is it lists Oasis to perform at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid on June 10th, 2025, which is the same date as Bad Bunny’s concert at the same venue.

Nevertheless, Onorato holds ambitions to bring Oasis to Rome, telling Radio Sei on July 31st: “Oasis in the capital? These are live shows for companies that organise events all over the world, and the financial aspect is crucial. Negotiations are underway.”

Earlier in the radio interview, Onorato had said that Rome previously missed out on hosting events of this magnitude, which it is his job to change, sharing, “Organising a large event in Rome is very complicated; in the past, Rome has been the ‘city of missed opportunities.'”

Onorato first publicly announced his intention to bring Oasis to Rome last September, only days after their reunion was officially confirmed. Per La Cronica De Roma, he stated, “In 2026, Oasis could take their tour to Europe. And yes, we’ve applied to host them in Rome.”

Oasis last toured Italy in 2009, just months before their split was finalised. While their final run in Italy saw them play indoor arenas, the current high demand now warrants dates at the Stadio Olimpico and the San Siro.

The Manchester icons return to Wembley Stadium on August 2nd and August 3rd. Then, once they return from North America later this year, Oasis will play two further shows at the London landmark in late September.
