Queens of the Stone Age announce new UK and Europe tour

Queens of the Stone Age have confirmed they will embark on a UK and European leg of their The Catacombs tour later this year.

The band had already announced news of 11 shows in North America last month, but the tour will now be extended with six dates across the UK and Europe in October, culminating in a landmark gig at The Royal Albert Hall in London.

Announcing the news, Queens of the Stone Age said: “Composed of all-new arrangements crafted specifically for the occasion, The Catacombs Tour will see QOTSA draw upon the spirit of those sublime subterranean renditions and infuse it into reimagined versions that promise to twist the volume knob in both directions.”

The tour’s theme is inspired by the Alive in the Catacombs concert film, which they released earlier this year. For the show, they descended 200 miles below street level into the Paris catacombs to perform haunting renditions of some of their most special cuts from over the years.

To that end, the string of intimate shows is set to give Queens of the Stone Age a glimpse of the band as they have never experienced them before. They also noted in the announcement, “Appropriate dress is encouraged for this very special evening at the theatre.”

On the UK and European leg of The Catacombs tour, the band will take in stops in Milan, Berlin, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Antwerp, and London. But before then, they are also set to take on a string of festival appearances across the UK and Ireland this summer, including in Portsmouth, Dublin, and Sheffield.

The band also teased that potential dates in Paris, the city where the concept for their latest sonic era was born, could be coming soon.

Tickets for Queens of the Stone Age’s UK and European dates go on sale on July 18th at 10am local time.
