The Far Out Pub Quiz: Paul McCartney, Peter Jackson and Elton John is “kind of f**ked”
Just this week, Paul McCartney sat down with Richard Osman to talk about the music industry.
I won’t go into too much detail about what was said, because there are questions concerning as much in this very quiz; however, I will say, it felt somewhat odd seeing one of the greatest musical minds in the world sitting across from a man who I mainly know from Pointless, but here we are. It makes you stop and wonder, do you think McCartney ever watched Osman on the popular quiz show prior to their interview? 5pm on a Thursday, glass of Pimms in hand, as the former Beatle tries to weed out what ingredients the British public wouldn’t have said go into a lasagna?
I reckon he did, as one of the only things that predate the Beatles in entertainment is the question-and-answer format. Those moments, when a question rings familiar, and you scratch around in every corner of your brain trying to dig up an answer that you know you’ve stumbled across before, well, it’s a euphoria that can only be likened to the first time people in the ‘60s heard ‘I Wanna Hold Your Hand’.
Here at Far Out, we love The Beatles, and you can tell as much when you look at what we write. However, it might not be as clear just how much we love a good quiz, and as such, it only seems right that we set aside some time to churn out a handful of half-decent quiz questions that you can have a good go at. Paul McCartney, if you’re reading, I can’t guarantee that these are going to scratch your trivia-induced itch in the same way that Richard Osman and Pointless do, but they’ll come close.
