The Far Out Pub Quiz: Shrek, nepo babies and missed out Mercury’s
Stood knee deep in the news can be a terrifying place to find yourself. Everywhere you look it’s war this, inflation that, and just this week it was announced that pint prices in London have hit £10 for the first time.
What will happen to the world if we all slowly stop going to the pub? Conversation will come to a halt, we will never be able to truly put the world to rights, and the beautiful art that is the pub quiz will steadily begin to dwindle. We simply can’t let it happen, and in a bid to remind you just how much fun a good pub quiz can be, here at Far Out, we figured it would be a good idea to put together our very own.
I mean, we have plenty of different topics to ask questions about. The past week in entertainment has been as busy as ever, with album announcements, film trailers, and fashion statements aplenty making their way onto our news feeds.
The acid trip that is the Met Gala took place on May 4th, which saw the usual smorgasbord of celebs hit the red carpet dressed in outfits that can only be described as… well… fucking stupid. And yet, the many questionable statements adorned by A-listers made front page news in the same way that they always seem to.
On top of that, musical legends refuse to slow down, as bands like The Rolling Stones, No Doubt and Deep Purple have all started new tours or announced they will be releasing a new album. Some say slow down, others say keep going, the artists in question don’t hear either comments over the sound of their banking app going off every few minutes.
How much have you been paying attention to all the news this past week? Well, if you think you know your stuff, and if you need to be reminded just how beautiful a thing the pub quiz is, then why not test your knowledge with Far Out’s very own?
Just don’t blame us if you’re not as clued up as you first thought…
