Primavera 2026: Watch Olivia Rodrigo and Robert Smith debut crushing new track
Olivia Rodrigo was the surprise act on the final day of Primavera Sound in Barcelona, and saw the festival out with a bang, welcoming The Cure’s Robert Smith to the stage to perform the world premiere of their new collaboration, ‘What’s Wrong With Me’.
In the afternoon of June 6th, the festival announced that Rodrigo would be performing on the Occident Stage, at the same time as My Bloody Valentine on the Estrella Damm Stage.
After making the difficult choice, fans were treated to an 11-song set from the global popstar, who opened with ‘Bad Idea Right?’ and ‘Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl’.
Despite not originally being on the line-up, Rodrigo had yet another surprise for fans in attendance. After singing her new track, titled ‘The Cure’, she introduced her next tune to the huge crowd.
She began, “It’s really special to me for so many reasons… primarily because it’s my first collaboration. I can’t believe this song exists and with the person that it exists with.”
Rodrigo started the song solo, singing, “I’m just staring at the ceiling, Can’t describe this feeling I’ve got in my head.” After soaring through the catchy chorus, she addressed the crowd, “Ladies and gentlemen, will you welcome Robert Smith!”
To thunderous applause, Smith then joined Rodrigo on stage. Smith soared through similarly melancholic lyrics, beginning, “I keep looking for distractions, hope the feeling passes, but I’ve got to say… It’s getting harder every day.”
After the heartfelt moment, Rodrigo had three songs left, barreling through high-energy singles ‘Deja Vu’, ‘All-American Bitch’, and ‘Good 4 U’.
Smith had already graced festival-goers with his presence the night before, when The Cure performed an immense 29-song headline set including oldies and goldies, and concluding with the gargantuan anthem, ‘Boys Don’t Cry’.
This isn’t the first time the unlikely pair have played live together. Last year, Rodrigo invited Smith to join her on stage during her 2025 headline set at Glastonbury Festival, where they performed ‘Just Like Heaven’ and ‘Friday I’m In Love’.
