Paul McCartney reportedly planning European tour, according to French media
Paul McCartney is planning a European tour, according to a report in French media.
This week, McCartney shared his first piece of music in more than five years with the release of his new single, ‘Days We Left Behind’, which finds him contemplating and reminiscing upon his early life in Liverpool.
‘Days We Left Behind’ is the first taste of his new album, also announced on March 26th, titled The Boys of Dungeon Lane, which is set to arrive on May 29th, 2026.
However, as of writing, the only dates that are scheduled in McCartney’s calendar are two performances, March 27th and March 28th, at the 1,200 capacity at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles.
Both concerts are phone-free events, which will allow McCartney to play new songs, like ‘Days We Left Behind’, without fan-shot footage leaking on social media.
Now, La Parisien reports that a European tour is in the works for later this year. The French publication wrote, “According to our sources, there should be a tour following the album’s release, with concerts in Europe at the end of 2026.”
McCartney has not toured Europe and the United Kingdom since a short run of dates in 2024, which saw him play in Paris, Madrid, Manchester and London.
His Got Back tour, which began in 2022, finally came to a conclusion in November 2025 following a North American arena leg that ended in Chicago.
The Boys of Dungeon Lane was recorded during breaks in his touring schedule in Los Angeles and Sussex, with producer Andrew Watt at the helm.
According to press materials, the new album finds McCartney “candid, vulnerable and deeply reflective mood, writing with rare openness about his childhood in post-war Liverpool, the resilience of his parents, and early adventures shared with George Harrison and John Lennon long before the world had ever heard of Beatlemania.”
In a statement, McCartney said of his new single, “It’s a lot of memories of Liverpool for me and that involves a little in the middle about John, Forthlin Road, a street I used to live in, this is where the title of the album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane, came from. Dungeon Lane is near there. I used to live in a place called Speke, which is quite working class.”
As it stands, no tour dates in support of the new record have been announced.
