Oscars 2025: Watch the red carpet coverage of the Academy Awards
Ahead of the Academy Awards, which officially get underway in a few hours, stars of the movie industry are descending upon the Dolby Theatre to make their red carpet arrivals.
The entirety of the red carpet coverage won’t be broadcast live on television, those in the United States will be able to watch a 30-minute programme on ABC before their coverage of the main event begins at 7pm ET.
Meanwhile, in the United Kingdom, the full red carpet proceeding will also not be shown. However, ITV will begin airing its broadcast at 10:30pm local time, which provides them with a 90-minute window to cover the red carpet and preview the event with host Jonathan Ross and his special guest.
However, the red carpet is available to view online thanks to The Associated Press, which is live-streaming the event directly from Hollywood.
Amelia Dimoldenberg was the first to arrive at the ceremony. For the second year in a row, British comedian and internet personality is serving as the social media ambassador and red carpet correspondent for the Oscars.
The Academy’s Chief Marketing and Communications officer, Jennifer Davidson, previously stated of Dimoldenberg’s involvement, “We are thrilled to welcome back Amelia as our social media ambassador and red carpet correspondent to provide viewers with exclusive access to the Oscars.”
Davidson added: “Amelia’s widespread appeal and unique approach resonated with global audiences, and we are looking forward to her affable and engaging perspective on the Oscars experience.”
For ABC’s coverage, hosting duties are set to be taken care of by Julianne Hough and Jesse Palmer.
Timothée Chalamet will be contending the ‘Best Actor’ category alongside The Brutalist’s Adrien Brody as his depiction of Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown was acknowledged amid seven nominations that also included the coveted ‘Best Picture’ prize, as well as his blockbuster Dune: Part Two.
