Olympics 2024: Watch Billie Eilish perform ‘Birds of a Feather’
In preparation for the Olympics handover to the LA Games in 2028, Billie Eilish joined a highly anticipated lineup that included the likes of Phoenix, Tom Cruise, Snoop Dogg and more.
Following the opening ceremony, which already attracted a lot of attention on a global scale, the committee knew that it would have to step up its game to a different level in order to maintain the audience’s interest.
In line with that, the President of Paris 2024, Tony Estangue, released a statement before the closing ceremony announcing that people can safely expect much more to come.
The statement read: “On August 11th, 2024, a new page will be turned with the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Games: it will be time to say goodbye to all the Olympic athletes and delegations who have thrilled us, made us dream and brought us to tears during 17 days of amazingly intense competition.”
It added: “Finally, the pressure will be off, and everyone will be able to take full advantage of the absolutely exceptional show that is being planned under the direction of Thomas Jolly, with the help of all the teams working across the four Paris 2024 ceremonies. Innovative, surprising and brilliant, these ceremonies already promise to be very powerful, just like ‘Records’, which has everything it takes to make a mark on the history of Closing Ceremonies.”
Wearing a Team USA polo, Eilish appeared to deliver an oceanside rendition of ‘Birds of a Feather’ alongside Finneas. She was a part of a unique contingent of LA representatives, which included Snoop Dogg and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
While the Chili Peppers belted out ‘Can’t Stop’, Snoop Dogg, who has been working as a commentator during the games, performed ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ before being joined by none other than Dr. Dre for ‘The Next Episode’.
