Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly and Snoop Dogg link up for ‘Step Brothers’ rendition

On October 21st, Will Ferrell and his Step Brothers co-star John C. Reilly reunited, with a little help from West Coast rap icon Snoop Dogg.

The trio linked up at Ferrell’s ‘Best Night of Your Life 2’ benefit show at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. They performed ‘Boats ‘N Hoes’ from the hit 2008 comedy Step Brothers as well as Snoop Dogg’s ‘Gin and Juice’, the second single from his 1993 debut album, Doggystyle.

For the performance, Ferrell and Reilly reprised their roles from Adam McKay’s movie as warring step brothers turned best friends, Brennan Huff and Dale Doback, respectively. In doing so, they wore white matching suits as they did in the original music video for ‘Boats ‘N Hoes’ in the movie. It comes when they pitch their entertainment company, Prestige Worldwide, at Derek’s dinner party.

Fans of the film will remember that the presentation backfires when the video shows the boat crashing, which crushes their parents’ dreams of sailing the world. This leads to them announcing their divorce. Eventually, the two former enemies connect to reunite their parents under one roof.

Proceeds from the benefit show went to the charity Cancer for College. Alongside Ferrell, C. Reilly, and Snoop Dogg’s performance, appearances were made by St. Vincent, Beck, Jack Black, Fred Armisen and Keanu Reeves’ band, Dogstar.

Step Brothers isn’t the only classic comedy Ferrell has returned to this month. At the start of October, he reprised his role as Frank ‘The Tank’ Ricard by DJing a frat party at USC.
