Oasis tour was in pre-production for 14 months, video director reveals

The video director and designer behind the Oasis reunion tour, Jon Shrimpton, has revealed that Oasis Live ’25 was in pre-production for 14 months.

Liam and Noel Gallagher concluded the huge comeback tour on November 23rd in São Paulo, Brazil. In total, the Britpop icons performed 41 shows across 142 days. They began rehearsals in May 2025.

Looking back at the admirable feat, the director and designer wrote on social media, “And there it was …. gone!”

He continued, “After 14 months of pre-production, lots of well-kept secrets, and five months of some of the most incredible sights and sounds I’ve ever seen at a stadium show, here we are.”

Shrimpton said: “The last night of the … it would be fair to say; culturally and financially successful Oasis Live ‘25 world tour, tonight, in São Paulo.” To Shrimpton, the tour was undoubtedly a “genuine career high point”.

He added, “Travelling around the world, in the eye of the storm. I’ve been genuinely honoured to work with the most incredible, talented, ego-free, happy crew that has ever been assembled, and there’s been nothing but love from everything I’ve seen written about the show.”

The video director isn’t the only one to reflect on the momentous feat. In a statement, the band have said that they have plans “pause” for a while before committing to any more shows.

They shared, “From Gallagher Hill to the River Plate, from Croke Park on the banks of the Royal Canal to the City Of Angels, the love, joy, tears and euphoria will never be forgotten. There will now be a pause for a period of reflection.”

While the band have hinted in some cases towards a European tour next year, nothing is set in stone. Liam has made it abundantly clear that fans are not to expect new music from the group anytime soon. In response to one fan asking about the prospect of new music from Oasis, replying on X, “New music is for WANKERS”.

Then, in another post, the singer elaborated, “It’s not I honestly do t see the point it won’t be as good as the old stuff im quite happy singing the old stuff I’m not 1 of those WANKERS that need to keep pushing it forward or sideways or backwards in some cases NOSTALGIA forever”.
