Oasis reveal stage times for Heaton Park concerts in Manchester
After 16 years, Oasis will be finally returning home to Manchester on July 11th for the first of four sold-out shows at Heaton Park.
Oasis have a history with the outdoor venue. On their final tour before their split in 2009, they played three huge shows at Heaton Park, which was attended by a total of 210,000 people over the course of the trio of concerts.
This time round, Oasis have extended the capacity of Heaton Park to 80,000 which means that 320,000 fans will witness the Gallagher brothers in action in their hometown this summer.
Similar to their Cardiff shows last weekend, Cast will be getting the performances underway at 18:00. However, doors will be open two hours earlier than they were in the Welsh capital with fans able to enter Heaton Park from 15:00.
Later, Richard Ashcroft will take to the stage at 19:00 before passing the baton over to Oasis who are set to perform at 20:15. The curfew at Heaton Park is 22:30, the same as the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
For their two shows in Cardiff, Oasis performed the same set on both nights which suggests it will stay this way for the entirety of the tour.
Their set replied upon material from their early years apart from ‘Little By Little’, which is the only post-2000 Oasis song that made the cut.
The Gallagher brothers, joined by Gem Archer, Andy Bell, Bonehead, and Joey Waronker, stormed through the band’s biggest hits such as ‘Hello’, ‘Morning Glory’, ‘Supersonic’, Slide Away’, ‘Live Forever’, and ‘Acquiesce’.
After departing the stage, they returned for a four-song encore consisting of ‘The Masterplan’, ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, ‘Wonderwall’, and ‘Champagne Supernova’.
Following the dates in Manchester, Oasis will begin their seven-date residency at Wembley Stadium with more UK and Ireland shows planned in Edinburgh and Dublin for this summer. They will also head to the US, Canada, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Australia, South Korea and Japan later this year.
