Oasis announce international dates for 2025 reunion tour
Oasis have added international dates to their reunion tour in 2025. The legendary band are set to visit the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Previously, Oasis revealed their comeback in August after publishing a series of teasers on social media, which sent the rumour mill into overdrive. Over ten million fans from 158 countries attempted to buy tickets to their 17-date tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland, which has now been extended with a further two shows at Wembley Stadium.
The tour is set to begin on July 4th at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. Oasis will then play numerous shows at Manchester’s Heaton Park, Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium, and also at Croke Park in Dublin as well as at Wembley.
While they previously ruled out the possibility of playing more shows in Europe next year, Oasis are set to bring their reunion to those outside the continent.
The international run of dates will also be stadium-sized, which is significantly bigger than they played during their 1990s heyday in America. They are set to start the jaunt in Toronto, Canada before they move into the United States, the Gallagher’s will visit Chicago, East Rutherford, Boston and Los Angeles. They are also set to play Mexico City during this leg of the tour.
In a statement, they said of their US tour: “America. Oasis is coming. You have one last chance to prove that you loved us all along.”
They also shared to their Mexican fans: “Gente de México, prepárense. Los Hermanos estan en camino”. This sentence translates to, “People of Mexico, prepare yourselves. The Brothers are on the way.”
The relationship between Oasis and America is complicated, as acknowledged in the band’s new statement. While ‘Wonderwall‘ was a huge hit, they never hit the big time in the same way as they did in other regions of the globe, but the size of these reunion concerts suggests that the United States is finally ready to accept them with open arms.
At a live event with rock photographer Jill Furmanovsky in 2023, Noel explained why he believed Oasis failed to crack America, stating, “America, they couldn’t handle the fact that we didn’t give a fuck about anything. I mean, I think that’s the reason we’ve never really had a number one album in America – they wouldn’t go the extra mile for us because we wouldn’t go the extra mile for them.”
He continued: “That’s why we’ve never been nominated for a GRAMMY. You’ve got to do all that stuff over there, you’ve got to kind of fake it a little bit and we just we couldn’t do it which is why we’d always stall at number two.”
General sale for the shows go on sale on October 4th at 10am local time. Meanwhile, the pre-sale is currently open until 8am ET on October 1st.
It’s also been confirmed that Cage The Elephant will support Oasis across all dates in North America.
Will Oasis use dynamic pricing for their North American tour?
While dynamic pricing was controversially used for their initial UK and Ireland dates, Oasis have assured fans that this tool won’t be administered for the newly-announced shows.
Initially, Oasis announced that standing tickets would cost £148, yet due to the level of demand, this skyrocketed to £355 on Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing. The band’s management later apologised, stating, “The execution of the plan failed to meet expectations. All parties involved did their utmost to deliver the best possible fan experience, but due to the unprecedented demand this became impossible to achieve.”
Now, in a new statement, Oasis’ management shared: “Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing model will not be applied to the forthcoming sale of tickets to Oasis concerts in North America.”
They maintained “it is widely accepted that dynamic pricing remains a useful tool to combat ticket touting and jeep prices for a significant proportion of fans lower than the market rate and thus more affordable.”
However, they added, “when unprecedented ticket demand (where the entire tour could be sold many times over at the moment tickets go on sale) is combined with technology that cannot cope with that demand, it becomes less effective and can lead to an unacceptable experience for fans.”
