Noel Gallagher provides update on Oasis rehearsals and says Liam is on “tip-top form”
Noel Gallagher has revealed Oasis are due to start rehearsals for their reunion tour in the next few weeks and confirmed that he met his brother, Liam Gallagher, on April 24th, who was on “tip top form”.
Gallagher provided the update during an appearance on TalkSPORT, where he discussed his beloved Manchester City ahead of their FA Cup Semi-Final appearance at Wembley Stadium against Nottingham Forest this weekend.
Towards the end of the phone interview, Gallagher was asked by host Alan Brazil if he was currently busy ahead of the reunion, to which Noel replied, “I’m in the studio just noodling around. We’re getting ready for rehearsals to start now in about three weeks, and then, yeah, we’ll see what happens.”
The guitarist was then quizzed about whether his brother Liam is currently “behaving himself”. Noel responded by revealing, “I was with him yesterday, actually, he’s alright. He’s on tip-top form.”
Noel’s new comments come after both he and Liam were pictured arriving separately at a working man’s club in Newington Green in London on April 24th.
Liam said of the meeting on X in response to a fan: “It was more a video kind of thing like a mini film and word on the street it was BIBLICAL I just get in n out I don’t hang around looking at the screen I’ll see it when you cats see it.”
While Liam has used social media to speak freely about Oasis’ comeback, Noel has remained largely tight-lipped. However, in March, he gave an interview to photographer Kevin Cummins for his new book, Oasis: The Masterplan, and revealed he was shocked by the demand for tickets.
“I thought it’d be a big deal, but I was a bit taken aback by just how much of a big deal it was,” Gallagher revealed to Cummins.
In addition to their upcoming live dates, which begin in Cardiff in July, Oasis will also team up with Peaky Blinders creator Stephen Knight to create a new film in conjunction with the upcoming tour. Although Knight is creating and producing the project, Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace will direct it. No further details have been issued regarding the content of the movie.
