Oasis reveal Stephen Knight is making film about reunion tour

Ahead of their reunion, Oasis have confirmed Peaky Blinders creator Stephen Knight is making a new film in conjunction with the upcoming tour.

Knight is best known for Peaky Blinders, but his impressive career also includes the BBC series This Town and Disney+’s A Thousand Blows. Although Knight is creating and producing the project, it will be directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, who have previously directed LCD Soundsystem’s Shut Up and Play the Hits and Meet the Bathroom, which explores the New York indie scene of the early 2000s.

Magna Studios is confirmed to be producing the Oasis film. The multidisciplinary studio previously made Beastie Boys Story, Gangs Of London, 20000 Days On Earth, and Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now.

Meanwhile, Sony Music Vision will distribute the movie, and Krista Wegener will lead global sales for the project.

At this stage, no release date has been given for the as-yet-untitled film, and no further details have been issued regarding the content of the movie, which will be revealed at a later date.

Earlier this week, Liam Gallagher appeared to confirm the full line-up for the new iteration. His comments came after NME published a report that stated Andy Bell, Gem Archer, and Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs would all be returning to Oasis with drummer Joey Waronker completing the list of members.

While it is yet to be officially confirmed by the band, Liam shared a post regarding his fears about the individual who was cited as being close to the band that was leaked to the publication, writing on X, “NME tell me who your source pots are that keep giving you info about OASIS and I’ll give you an exclusive interview about up n coming OASIS tour you can have it all but how much do you want it LG x”.

In a later post, Gallagher wrote on X: “It’s not the lineup reveal I’m bothered about I’ll reveal that to you in a minute I’m more bothered about the line where it says a source close to the band and tour that really causes me a great deal of concern LG x”.

The highly-anticipated Oasis tour is set to begin on July 4th at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. Oasis will then play numerous shows at Manchester’s Heaton Park, Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium, Croke Park in Dublin as well as at Wembley Stadium.
