Noel Gallagher discusses the chances of Oasis comeback

With speculation rife after it was announced that a new film was in the works, Noel Gallagher has once again poured cold water over talk of a potential Oasis comeback.

Despite their warring relationship, estranged Gallagher brothers Noel and Liam have signed on to executive produce a new Oasis film set up to document their now-iconic Knebworth gigs. In what appeared as a thawing of tension, fans of the Britpop band have since gotten a little carried with the hope of a reunion.

Unfortunately, however, the reality of the situation remains the same. The band, who have been split up for over 10 years, will not be joining forces for a comeback anytime soon as Noel asserts: “Oasis is done I’m afraid.”

“The legacy of the band is set in stone. If people have seen us, they’ll understand what all the fuss is about. If you didn’t see us, then that’s tough ‘cos I’ve never seen The Beatles or the Sex Pistols,” says Noel.

“People ask me that question on a daily basis and I can only say to you that, I just don’t feel like it,” he added. “When you’re in a band, it’s an absolute compromise so no I don’t think I could come up with an idea and then run it by four people and then six weeks later, somebody knocks it back because their cat’s got a cough so I like to march to the beat of my own drum.”

He concluded: “Oasis is done I’m afraid.”
