Nine Inch Nails confirm new soundtrack album for ‘Tron: Ares’
Nine Inch Nails have confirmed the release of Tron: Ares (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) on September 19th through Interscope Records.
The upcoming record by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will arrive ahead of Tron: Ares arriving in cinemas on October 10th. The upcoming science-fiction blockbuster directed by Joachim Rønning stars Jared Leto, Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Gillian Anderson and Jeff Bridges.
In anticipation of the soundtrack, Nine Inch Nails have shared ‘As Alive As You Need Me To Be’ which appears in the new trailer for Tron: Ares and marks the band’s first single in five years.
Although Reznor and Ross have made a name for themselves in Hollywood thanks to their Grammy-winning scores, this is a Nine Inch Nails project that exists in a separate realm to their work on movies like Challengers or The Social Network.
The press release promises of the forthcoming release: “As a work by Nine Inch Nails, Tron: Ares is a bracing departure from these acclaimed scores. Its architecture in sound: pulsating synths, distorted textures, and haunting melodies. Not one second of orchestra. Instead, the album erupts with the full force of Nine Inch Nails, breaking boundaries and redefining what a score can be.”
Nine Inch Nails recently completed the UK and European leg of their Peel It Back tour, which saw them play venues such as Manchester’s Co-op Live and London’s O2 Arena in June.
The band’s arena tour across North America is scheduled to commence on August 6th in Oakland, California. The six-week run of dates will take them across the major cities, including stops in Toronto, Brooklyn, Cleveland, Boston, Philadelphia, Tampa, Houston, Chicago, Seattle, Vancouver, Detroit, and Portland. The tour will conclude at the KIA Forum in Los Angeles on September 18th.
Additionally, in May, Nine Inch Nails confirmed details of their Future Ruins which will bring together the biggest composers in the world for a special event held at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center on November 8th, 2025.
